AIR02 Étyié Dard: Residency Works Presentation

March 25 - 29, 2026

[Overview]
This exhibition showcases the results of the second artist-in-residence program by French artist Étyié Dard. During her one-month stay at Artspace in March 2026, she presented works created based on her encounters with materials at Senbonhama, Asamiya Bamboo Store, and Junkan Works in Numazu. She created lanterns from bamboo, constructing a mythological narrative themed around life and death, reincarnation, and the cycles that exist in between. She unfolded this imaginative world, where spirits and animals coexist, through paintings, videos, and installations. The exhibition was structured to encourage viewers to interpret the relationships between the works using their own imagination.
